SESSION TIME CHANGE

​Effective Monday, January 12, 2026 and until further order, the Court has revised the session starting times for Magistrate Court as follows:
 
            Magistrate Sessions (morning) shall begin at 9:30 a.m.
            Magistrate Commissioners’ Sessions (evening) shall begin at 3:30 p.m.





Magistrate 1 proceedings are in-person excluding in custody defendants.

The use of Zoom for absentee appearances in Magistrate Court will terminate effective August 30, 2024. 

​The only exceptions to in-person, will be in the following situations, where leave to attend remotely has been granted by the Court: 

1. Persons may appear via Zoom for probation status hearings;

2. Persons may appear via Zoom for mental health status hearings; and

3. Persons may appear via Zoom to enter a guilty plea, where the defendant has obtained Court permission to enter the plea in this manner after submitting a written motion two weeks prior to the scheduled Zoom date.  In ALL such Zoom pleas, counsel must appear in person and present to the Court an ORIGINAL, SIGNED Boykin Form.  A Zoom plea is never allowed for any offense that may be enhanced to a felony on a subsequent conviction.

4. The Court will not consider the recall of previously issues capias' by Zoom.

None of the exceptions contained above is intended to modify Zoom use by Commissioners during weekend and holiday court hearings.

Bond defendants and attorneys must report in-person to all sections of Magistrate.




FIRST APPEARANCES​
First Appearances in Magistrate 1, effective May 20, 2024, will be held daily at 9:30 a.m.
