Scope of Job
- Responsible for managing all aspects of a client’s progress through the Drug Court Program.
- Report directly to Lead Case Manager.
Job Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work or a related field required.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience required of work in field or related field.
Duties
- Interview/Screen participant for eligibility using motivational interviewing.
- Refer participant to appropriate treatment programs, counseling agencies, institutions, community partners, education programs, employment and housing assistance.
- Staff with Section Judge every week to discuss participant progress and recommend suitable sanctions for non-compliance participant (i.e. more intensive treatment, extend curfew, etc.).
- Meet weekly in Court Intervention Services office or via video conference with active program participants to monitor their progress in the program and promptly record journal notes for each client.
- Appear in court for required status hearings.
- Collaborate with Department of Public Safety and Corrections probation officers regarding participant status.
- Update and keep current all the Automon Integrated Management Systems (AIMS) Drug Court Case Management system information, including: employment, address, telephone number, medical information, medications, new charge information, journal notes, status, sanctions, incentives, community service and treatment plan, if applicable.
- All Case Managers are subject to the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court Employee Handbook, Policy and Procedures and Safety Manual.
- All Case Managers are required to attend trainings, workshops and seminars relating to their positions with Criminal District Court and/or Court Intervention Services as appropriate.
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, supervisors and other departments including being sensitive to professional ethics; gender, racial, and cultural diversities; and physical, mental and/or emotional disabilities.
- Maintain confidentiality of Court information and records according to state law and Court rules.
- Comply with all Court and department policies and work rules, including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace and personal conduct.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.

Maintenance
NATURE OF WORK:
Perform a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of the court building, departments, and equipment. Performs related duties as assigned. Reports mechanical or electrical malfunctions to the appropriate party for action. Exercises discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled craftsman. Assists in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as needed.
