COVID-19:

CRIMINAL DISTRICT COURT CLOSURE


(New Orleans, La. March 15, 2020) The Orleans Parish Criminal District Court will be closed beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 through Monday, April 13, 2020 due to public safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Those individuals with pending cases set during this closure, should report to Court between April 13, 2020 and April 17, 2020 to secure a new court date during the normal hours of operation.

Jurors serving in the month of March have been dismissed.
Those jurors summoned for the month of April 2020 will receive notice regarding their jury service.

The Court will work closely with the State of Louisiana, City of New Orleans and Louisiana Supreme Court regarding openings and closures.

The public is asked to watch all media outlets and the Court’s website www.criminalcourt.org for updated information
