Pretrial Case Manager
MISSION STATEMENT
Criminal District Court Pretrial Services Program serves the community by providing objective information for bail decisions and to improve court appearances while advancing public safety.
Scope of Job
The Pretrial Services Supervision Program supervises clients ordered to participate in the program by the Court using the least restrictive supervision possible as dictated by the risk posed by the client.
Job Requirements
· Master's degree in social work, counseling, criminal justice, or related field strongly preferred and valid accreditation (if applicable);
· Case management experience or three years of relevant experience preferred;
· Interest in social justice and commitment to fairness;
· Extremely strong work ethic and a commitment to working within a team;
· Strong organizational skills;
· Ability and willingness to work with individuals in the criminal justice system, and on occasion, in a correctional setting;
· Experience working with system-involved individuals strongly preferred;
· Fluency in Spanish desired;
· Ability to document cases history in a case management system in a timely manner;
· Position contingent upon clearance by criminal history background check.
Duties
· Report to the Judges and Judicial Administrator of Criminal District Court as required;
· Generate Pretrial Services reports and coordinate with judicial officers regarding pretrial services for clients;
· Assess defendants for the required and appropriate level of supervisory requirements and prepare a supervision plan for each;
· Meet with defendants to ensure they are familiar with the conditions of release, the role of the supervision specialist, and the supervision plan;
· Provide ongoing reminders to supervised defendants of scheduled court dates and any other court ordered scheduled activities;
· Make referrals for treatment services to the appropriate agencies based on defendant’s needs.
· Address any barriers defendants have meeting court appearances or compliance with court-ordered activities;
· Support clients in areas of needs;
· Input data on supervision activities into case management system;
· Identify and implement appropriate measures to achieve compliance with court ordered conditions to ensure safety in the community and appearance in court;
· Periodically asses’ defendants for appropriate modification of pretrial conditions of release;
· Testify in court as required;
· Ability to acquire security clearance from Louisiana State Police and Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff’s Office;
· Coordinate and cooperate with the Public Defender, the District Attorney, the Court, and other agencies in the criminal justice system, and provide information on status of defendants when appropriate;
· Provide public access to and maintain confidentiality of court information and records according to state law and court rules;
· Comply with all court and departmental policies and work rules, including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace and personal conduct;
· Adhere to the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court Employee Handbook, Policy and Procedures and Safety Manual;
· Display a positive attitude and work as a team member, while being mindful that they work with the public and their job performance reflects upon the Criminal District Court; and
· Any and all other duties as assigned.

Trauma Therapist
Bureau of Justice Assistance FY21 Adult Drug Court Enhancement
Project Period 10/1/2021 – 9/30/2025
Roles, Responsibilities, & Duties
- Provides individual trauma therapy sessions for co-occurring substance dependent court-mandated participants enrolled in the Orleans Parish Drug Court Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program.· Meets individually with participants to process recent arrests, family problems and healthy relationships.
- Maintains updated electronic files for each client, including case and attendance notes using the AIMS Case Management System.
- This position is funded by a 48-month Bureau of Justice Assistance grant and reports to the Court Services Administrator.
Qualifications & Skills
- Applicant must be a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Master’s degree in Counseling or Clinical Social Work from an accredited program.
- Skilled in individual and group therapy modalities.
- Extensive experience in trauma therapy and individual counseling required.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of substance use disorders and mental health disorders.
- Proficient written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
