Mission of the Court
The duties of the Criminal District Court of Orleans Parish is described in the Louisiana Constitution, Article 7 Section 82:85 and in the Louisiana Revised Statutes 13:1338 through 1342. The goal of the court is to prosecute all crimes, misdemeanors, and offensives committed within the Parish of Orleans in which jurisdication is not vested in some other court.
